Considerate Contradiction
I woke up,
Ready for the day,
Electric thoughts crackling like power lines in a storm,
Filling my chest with an endless hum of energy
I could taste the morning,
In the coffee and cold air,
A day waiting to be written,
Blank canvas, stretched wide, patiently waiting
To see the color of something real.
I lost time
Disappearing like smoke,
Spilled out on the table like black ink,
Moments too big to measure
But confusion lingers like a shadow,
Like clouds in the sky it makes me wonder—
Which way do I go?
Overwhelmed by the unknown,
Chasing it and standing still all at once
Maybe the answer to my questions,
Is exactly what I am in this moment—
The weight of the wind and fear of the fire,
A considerate contradiction.
