It isn’t a Website, it’s a Portal.

Run from the Norm Isn’t Just a Website. It’s a Portal.

I didn’t build Run from the Norm because I needed a platform. I built it because I needed a way out—

Out of self-doubt.

Out of survival mode.

Out of years spent carrying a weight I couldn’t name—but couldn’t set down either.

I didn’t know what it would become when I started.

All I knew is that I was tired of pretending I had to do life the way everyone else was doing it.

That maybe—just maybe—my mess could mean something if I stopped hiding it.

What I didn’t expect was just how deeply the process of building this thing would mirror the process of becoming me again.

Creativity Doesn’t Happen in a Straight Line

I bounce around a lot. Some days I’m deep in a blog draft, feeling every word in my chest. Other days I’m redesigning a page layout or obsessing over how to describe a hat. There are weeks where I wake up at 3 a.m. with a new idea and can’t rest until I map it out. It’s not clean. It’s not linear.

But it’s alive. And that’s the point.

Run from the Norm isn’t just a brand, podcast, or website. It’s a living, breathing reflection of a real person trying to figure it out in real time.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to get it perfect and just started letting it become.

Create A Partnership, Then Listen

We all have an inner voice. A voice deep inside that is trying to tell us like it is. A North Star that isn’t affected by fear. Fear of judgement. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection.

The problem is, we tend to second guess ourselves— our thoughts, ideas, and opinions—and get stuck in analysis-paralysis and don’t listen to it.

That’s a curse I’ve lived every day, and it’s also one of the reasons I started Run from the Norm. I had to find a way out, and I knew I needed to give my inner voice some amplification.

This voice reflects my passions, and none of my insecurities. Like a superhero alter ego.

It allows me to translate all the noise in my head into something clear and meaningful—letting me share my love for writing, deep thinking, and that long-haul kind of reflection that sticks with you.

It’s only full of hope and optimism that everything will work out if you just have faith and trust the process. Kinda like having someone in your corner who sees you.

The real you.

Why Stories Matter (More Than Ever)

We’re all carrying something.

Grief. Joy. Loss. Curiosity. Guilt. Wild hope.

Stories are how we make sense of that. They’re how we reach across the void and say, “Me too. I thought I was the only one.”

That’s what this blog is for. That’s what the podcast is for. That’s what the brand is.

Every entry, every episode, every photo and page on the website—it’s all an offering. Not because I have it figured out, but because I’m willing to show up and tell the truth anyway.

And if that helps one person feel less alone? Worth it.

Run from the Norm Isn’t All About Running

Yeah, I run. A lot. Mountains, trails, long miles that test your soul. Sure, I don’t run like I used to, and I have a long ways to go as I start over after this long recovery from back surgery, but that’s ok. Run from the Norm was never about pace or podiums or living in past glory.

It’s about the people who keep showing up when no one’s watching.

It’s about the ones who fought to rebuild after the fall.

It’s about giving yourself permission to not follow someone else’s blueprint—to write your own, even if your hands are shaking.

This brand was born from pain, persistence, and the need for purpose. It’s for the dreamers, misfits, and quiet rebels who are still figuring it out.

If that’s you, this is your tribe.

This is your community.

The Work No One Sees

People might scroll past a blog post or tap through a product listing and never think about what went into it.

But every word, every story behind a headline—it all comes from somewhere deep.

There were days I almost scrapped it. Days I thought, Who the hell am I to build something like this? I’ll never be the runner I used to be. And why would anyone care?

And then I’d hear one voice. One message. One stranger who said, “Hey… that was perfect timing, and I really needed that.”

So I kept going.

This Is Your Sign

If you’re in the middle of the messy middle—trying to figure out your next step, or whether your story is worth sharing—I hope this reaches you.

This is your sign to keep going.

You don’t need to be polished to be powerful.

You don’t need to know the whole path to take one more step.

Just keep showing up.
 One breadcrumb at a time.

Because you’re not alone.

We’re all in this together.

If this hit home, I’d love to hear from you—drop a comment or send me a message on Insta or FB.

Run from the Norm .

Motivate with compassion, listen without judgement, inspire with curiosity, one person at a time.
